Volunteers are the heart of Paw’s Place and are appreciated for their strengths and contributions. What they do is invaluable and necessary for our organization. We want volunteers that have the needs of the animals as their central focus.
Paw’s Place has 42 kennels that can house up to 80 dogs and puppies. We currently have over 40 dogs that we are caring for. Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
-
Feeding the dogs
-
Walking dogs
-
Cleaning kennels
-
Bathing dogs
-
Interacting with dogs, such as walking them on a leash, showing affection
-
Laundry
-
Grounds maintenance (mowing and trimming)
-
Repair of kennels and cages
-
Adoption days
There are also other roles to be filled for our shelter that don’t directly involve contact with the animals. Roles such as:
- Volunteer coordinator
- Marketing and publicity
- Fund raising activities
- Grant writing
We welcome volunteers of all ages. Children thirteen years old and under must be accompanied by a parent or older sibling over eighteen years of age. If you are interested in volunteering, please download the Volunteer Application (PDF format) and bring it to our office during normal hours.
