Paws Place Board of Directors

The mission of Paws Place and past success of the enterprise has caught the attention of many people in our community.  Several have stepped forward and expressed an interest in becoming part of this organization.  These people have volunteered and been elected to join the Board of Directors of Paw’s Place, Inc.

The current Board of Directors are:

George Zimmerman—Board member and Vice President.  George is a PhD Chemist who is retired from Colgate Palmolive.

Peggy Durso—Board Secretary and Director of Operations.  Peggy has worked in administrative positions at a variety of industries in her career including financial planning, education, health services, legal and manufacturing.

Steve McCrossan- Steve originally hails from the frozen tundra of Buffalo, NY. He holds a graduate degree in Liberal Studies and is a pending recipient of an MPA with a concentration in Nonprofit Management. He is the founder and project coordinator for Today is the Day, a Wilmington based volunteer group. Steve is married with two boisterous dogs and is the Director of Services at the Country Club of Landfall.

Darlene Rasel–Treasurer.  Darlene is a retired Managing Director of Deutsche Bank Asset Management and former consultant to Moody’s Investors Services.  She is a long time volunteer for Paws Place.

Robin Arnaud–Retired REALTOR who has had at least one dog almost her entire life.  Robin worked in various fields while living all across the country and is now in the one which pays in puppy kisses!

Rick Mazur–Retired computer specialist.   His love for dogs and commitment to the challenges of raising funds will  allow Paws Place to continue its mission for many years to come.

Tony Durso—President.  Tony is an engineer and an MBA who has retired from ExxonMobil Chemical Company.

Paws Place was founded in 1999 by Nancy Janovetz.  During our sixteen years of operation Paws Place has rescued and found permanent homes for well over 1000 dogs.  That’s a tremendous track record of saved dogs and happy families who have adopted them.
