  • Catherine Helgesen

    Catherine works as a CPA in Wilmington.  She has been a volunteer at Paws Place since December 2015.  Her passion for dogs brought her to Paws Place and she delights in doing all she can to make the residents feel special.  Catherine is married and has a rescue pup – Roxy.  She enjoys yoga, reading, boating, and long walks with her family.

  • Tony Durso

    Tony is an engineer and an MBA who has retired from ExxonMobil Chemical Company.  He has been a volunteer with Paws Place since 2011.

  • Kelley Mawhinney

    Kelley currently works in Wilmington for a local non profit in fundraising and development. She has always been passionate about helping people and dogs, which lead her to Paws Place.  She started volunteering in October 2017 and recently became a foster failure by adopting Springer with boyfriend, Pete.

  • Peggy Durso
    Director of Operations

    Peggy has worked in administrative positions at a variety of industries in her career, including financial planning, education, health services, legal and manufacturing.  Peggy has been a volunteer with Paws Place since 2008.

  • Robin Arnaud
    Board Member

    Retired REALTOR who has had at least one dog almost her entire life. Robin worked in various fields while living all across the country and is now in the one which pays in puppy kisses!

  • Sarah Morse
    Board Member

    Sarah is a Sales Representative in the high tech field supporting key accounts in the Pacific Northwest for the past 20 years. She has a passion for helping others and making a difference in her community. Sarah and her daughter Grace Volunteer often at Meet & Greets around the Wilmington area and has been a volunteer since 2012.

  • Marianne Cyr
    Board Member

    Marianne retired as an administrative assistant in 2010.  She was a volunteer for several years at the Jacksonville (Florida) Humane Society where she was inspired to become a dog trainer. She loves nothing more than seeing that little light bulb come on over a dog’s head when he “gets it” during a training session. Marianne is a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.  She also enjoys reading and tennis and has been volunteering at Paws Place since 2016.
