Paws Place Dog Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill sanctuary dedictated to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of dogs.
How we accomplish our mission:
- We save pets.
- We nurse them back to health.
- All animals are spayed or neutered.
- We provide a sanctuary for all until they are adopted.
- Most of all, we are dedicated to finding them loving homes no matter how long it takes. One life at a time.
Founder Nancy Janovetz worked as a volunteer for two no-kill shelters, and the county animal services, finding homes for over 250 dogs. In 1999, she established the corporation for Paw’s Place, filed the IRS documents for a non-profit organization, and then set out to find the perfect location for the shelter. In June 1999, Paw’s Place, Inc. purchased a 5 acre tract of land in Boiling Spring Lakes. Nancy then designed the dog kennels and layout, paying special attention to the needs of the dogs’ comfort, safety, and proper hygiene. With the help of volunteers, 42 covered kennels were completed in about 90 days. The shelter had its first occupants before it was totally completed.
